Page transitions
Two things every page has without a component.
Page transitions
Section titled “Page transitions”---import "@rottensea/ds-personal-website/page-transitions.css";---Changing page fades the old page out and the new one in over --motion-base, while the nav stays where it is. These are the browser’s own cross-document view transitions: every page still loads in full and runs its scripts, and Back and Forward return to where the reader was. A browser without them changes page at once, and so does a reader who asked for reduced motion, in the OS or with SettingsMenu.
The stylesheet is separate so a site chooses it; the docs site does not use it.
The scrollbar
Section titled “The scrollbar”base.css makes the page’s scrollbar thin, in the soft muted text colour on the page’s own ground, and keeps its space whether the page scrolls or not, so a short page and a long one centre the same. Only the right side is kept: keeping both would leave a strip of canvas beside every full-width dark band, such as the footer. Browsers that ignore scrollbar-color and scrollbar-width draw their own, and macOS draws overlay scrollbars that take no space.
